Help Us Build The Great American Foundation

We’re in our founding season and we want the people who believe in this mission helping to build it. Bring your ideas, your talents, and your treasure to The Great American Foundation.

What We Stand For

Five pillars of work, each one a different way of carrying the American story forward.

A preacher at a lectern faces a packed stadium at night under floodlights, the crowd filling the field and the stands

Faith

Honoring the role faith has played in shaping the American story — and the communities living it out today.

Beauty

Restoring and celebrating the historic places, landmarks, and natural beauty that define American communities.

History

Making American history and civics come alive — in classrooms, museums, and everyday life.

Community

Investing in the people and local projects that make American communities strong.

Innovation

Celebrating the builders, inventors, and businesses carrying the American spirit of innovation forward.

Together, they’re how we turn “I love this country” into something you can actually help build.

Built Within Our Communities

We believe this country isn’t just carried forward through big ideas, it’s built one community, one state at a time. Here’s where that work is already starting to take shape.

State of the Year

Once a year, The Great American Foundation turns the spotlight on one state. Its history, its people, and everything it’s added to the story of America. Over the next fifty years, all fifty states will get their turn: a year of storytelling, programming, and community celebration built around what makes that state unmistakably its own.

Give Where You Live

Help submit, fund, and volunteer for real local projects — parks, murals, memorials — right in your own community.
